Mobile Simulation Program
RASI’s mobile simulator program offers moderate to high-fidelity, low-risk, and comprehensive training to support repeatable, measured procedure practice that is not possible on live patients. The program provides instruction and immediate feedback in a risk-free environment. It also offers a greater understanding of effective communication techniques and adult learning principles, and their clinical application to enhance patient-centered care.

The RASI Learning Center (RLC) is a cutting-edge, web-based destination for education and training, an increasing amount of which offers continuing education credit for physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and human resource professionals. The RLC is constantly being refined to meet the ever-changing and expanding education needs of our clients and offers:

RASI provides meaningful, engaging, interactive, and measurable learning in a variety of modalities, with the goal of improving quality of care, enhancing patient safety, and reducing risk. Our learning can be taken on RASI’s learning management system (RLC) or licensed to clients so they can import it into their own learning management systems. Sample courses include:

Consisting of 3 modules, each 20 minutes in length, this series covers ways to make a positive impact on patients’ experiences. It discusses patient handling skills that will make staff feel less stressed, more effective, and increase their enjoyment of work. Including strategies and tips, this series covers ways to provide world-class service using the four principles of C.A.R.E. It also discusses the use of a Patient Interaction Module to handle patient dissatisfaction and create a positive experience.

Designed for human resource professionals and leadership, RASI offers two courses on employee relations, both of which offer continuing education credit. The first course, Employee Relations for Managers, is 60 minutes in length and discusses considerations for management in directing and working within an effective Employee Relations program. In addition to defining employee relations, this course covers the elements of performance management, possible steps of a disciplinary process, and best practices in creating and maintaining effective documentation. The second course, Employee Relations: A Guide to Decision-Making, is 45 minutes in length and explores examples and best practices for managers and human resources staff in addressing, escalating, and mitigating risk related to employee relations issues.

As defined by the Institute of Medicine, health literacy is the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic information and services needed to make appropriate decisions regarding their health. To help increase and encourage health literacy, RASI offers a 45-minute course that reviews the importance of health literacy and how it affects any patient’s ability to make the best decisions regarding care.

Two courses, one focusing on HIPAA basics, which is 45 minutes in length, and the other on HIPAA security tips and best practices, which is 30 minutes in length, are available from RASI. Together, they provide a comprehensive overview of how to best protect patient privacy. HIPAA exams are also available for those staff who are already well versed in HIPAA and need to prove their competency.

RASI offers a 5-course human trafficking series that takes 2.5 hours to complete and offers continuing medical and nursing credit. This series discusses how to recognize a potential victim of human trafficking and what to do if you suspect someone is a victim of human trafficking. In addition to providing an overview of human trafficking, the courses also cover who can be a victim, who can be a trafficker, red flags, barriers and legal aspects of self-identification, and how to conduct a human trafficking assessment.

Approximately 60 minutes in length, this course examines the management of employee leaves of absence and offers continuing education credit for human resource professionals. Topics include the distinctions between mandatory and voluntary leaves, relevant employment laws, and how to handle employee leave requests.

This course, which offers continuing education credit for human resource professionals and is 45 minutes in length, explores the components of effective performance management, best practices for documentation, and possible steps in addressing performance issues.

As keeping property safe and secure is of the utmost importance, RASI offers a comprehensive suite of courses that cover weather preparedness for severe weather, cold weather, hurricanes, wildfires, tornados, and floods. RASI also offers courses on how to create an emergency flood cart, how to prevent slips, trips, and falls, how to secure vacant properties, and how to read an insurance policy.

This course discusses essential topics for managers and human resources staff in maintaining fair employment practices and a workplace free from discrimination. It covers recognizing how workplace practices can lead to disparate impact or disparate treatment of a protected group and identifies strategies for addressing and preventing workplace discrimination and harassment. The course is 45 minutes in length and offers continuing education credit for human resource professionals.

Offering continuing education credit for human resource professionals, this course examines employee terminations; provides education on defining constructive discharge and wrongful termination; and is 45 minutes in length. Topics include recognizing employer actions that could lead to claims of constructive discharge and wrongful termination; understanding the importance of documenting performance issues and employment decisions; and identifying best practices for managing risk around employment terminations.

RASI offers 6 comprehensive series, each between 60 and 120 minutes in length, that discuss strategies for delivering accessible and affirming healthcare to LGBTQ+ patients and offer both continuing medical and nursing credit. Three series are intended for all staff and include topics such as basic terminology, gender identity, gender expression, diversity as a health issue, discrimination (specifically in healthcare), social issues, risk behaviors, and strategies for delivering accessible and affirming healthcare. The other three, which are designed for clinicians and providers, dive deeper into the health concerns of LGBTQ+ patients. Topics include how common assumptions made in medical settings about LGBTQ+ individuals impact the health and care of this population, an overview of healthcare needs specific to the LGBTQ+ population, and strategies for providing inclusive healthcare environments, including effective, inclusive communication techniques.
